How to distinguish the quality of ceramic fiber blankets?

Share This Post

1. The appearance of the ceramic fiber blanket

(1) Ceramic fiber blankets are white and regular. Good ceramic fiber products are white, yellow is generally low-grade products.

(2)High-quality ceramic fiber blankets with clear texture, needle patterns, and low slag ball content.

Generally, the content of dregs of good ceramic fiber blankets is below 15 %. We can tear off the fiber blanket and check whether there is some brown or black residue inside.

2. Performance

Tensile strength

A ceramic fiber spinning needle blanket is made of polished raw material that after threading to fiber-shaped, then shape into a fiber blanket.

After the double-sided needle process, it has higher tensile strength and a flat surface. It can still maintain good tensile strength, toughness, and fiber structure in a long-term atmosphere of neutral and oxidation.

Therefore, good quality has a high impact on toughness. If there is any fall in the stretching or falling process, poor elasticity, and high temperature can easily shrink and break, it means that the quality is not good.

3. Raw material

The quality grade of ceramic fiber products is based on the purity of alumina.

(1) Ordinary type: ordinary ceramic fiber blankets are used native materials, with more impurities, and the color becomes dark yellow;

(2) Standard type: Standard ceramic fiber blankets are slightly dull in white;

(3) High-purity or above: At first glance, it looks white and vivid.

(4) Zirconium type: The color of the fiber blanket is more biased to milky white;

(5) Chromium type: the fiber blankets which containing chromium which can withstand high temperatures of 1500 ° C, and the color is a bit yellow-green

4. By touch

(1) The fibers of the blanket made by spinning techniques are long, thick, and tough, with strong toughness and should not be torn out easily;

(2) The fibers of the blanket made by the blown techniques are small, short and soft, more fluffy, but insufficient tensile.

In a word, spinning fiber is generally used as a high-temperature insulation blanket or processing into modules, and blown fiber is mostly used to make ceramic fiber paper and ceramic fiber board.

These identification methods are suitable for users to check on the spot. It can probably identify the quality of the product.

Anyway, accurate judgment should be based on professional testing.
